ELEGOO Saturn 4 Ultra 16K: a 10-inch resin printer with tank heating
A 16K resin printer with a 14 × 19 μm XY resolution, 30 °C tank heating, auto leveling and an AI camera. Here is what ELEGOO states and what to check.

Resin printers are the choice when surface detail matters most: miniatures, jewelry masters, dental-style models and anything with fine texture. The ELEGOO Saturn 4 Ultra 16K sits at the high-resolution end of ELEGOO's Saturn line, with a 10-inch 16K monochrome LCD. This guide covers what the manufacturer says the printer does, what the numbers mean and what the product page leaves for you to work out.

Key features
Resolution and volume. ELEGOO lists a 15120 × 6230 pixel screen and a 14 × 19 μm XY resolution. The build volume is 211.68 × 118.37 × 220 mm. In plain terms, the footprint is wide and shallow, with a tall Z range for upright models.
Speed. With tilt release technology, which peels the model from the film quickly, ELEGOO states speeds up to 150 mm/h and 5.5 seconds per layer under general settings, and calls it twice as fast as the Saturn 3 Ultra. That layer time applies only in fast print mode with Chitubox's default parameters, including a 2.5-second exposure.
Tank heating. Smart tank heating holds the resin at 30 °C. ELEGOO says this improves fluidity and layer adhesion and reduces defects such as bubbles and layer separation. It includes temperature detection, auto heating and quick preheat.
Leveling and sensors. Automatic leveling needs no manual adjustment. A smart mechanical sensor supports residue detection (to protect the LCD), resin shortage alarms and leveling failure alarms.
AI camera with light. The camera offers real-time monitoring, time-lapse capture and alerts for empty build plates and warped models. ELEGOO notes that AI detection results can vary with the environment, models and resin types.
Safety and recovery. The printer pauses and alerts if LED temperature exceeds 80 °C, and resumes automatically after a power outage. A one-tap self-test checks components before printing.
Connectivity and system. Dual-band Wi-Fi for cluster printing, OTA upgrades, a touch interface in 12 languages, section-based exposure and a seamless switch between fast and slow print modes.
Consumables built in. A laser-engraved build plate, a PFA release film and a 9H tempered glass LCD protector. ELEGOO says you will get a prompt to replace the release film after 60,000 uses.
Who it's for
- Miniature and model makers chasing fine surface detail.
- Hobbyists who want less setup. Auto leveling and a self-test reduce the first-print hurdles.
- Anyone running several printers. Wi-Fi cluster printing lets you manage multiple machines from one interface.
- Print farms and small shops that value monitoring and alerts.
Things to know before buying
- Post-processing is separate. Printed parts need washing and curing, and ELEGOO sells a wash and cure station separately. Budget for that.
- Odor. ELEGOO says the Mars Mate air purifier, with its activated carbon filter, absorbs resin odor with up to 95% purification efficiency for TVOC. It is sold separately.
- Speed claims have conditions. The 5.5 s per layer figure depends on fast mode and Chitubox default parameters. Your own resin and settings will differ.
- Wide, not deep. At 211.68 × 118.37 mm, the footprint suits tall or narrow models more than large flat ones. Compare it with the larger Jupiter 2 if you need more space.

What stands out
- 16K screen with 14 × 19 μm XY resolution
- 30 °C tank heating and auto leveling
- AI camera with light and time-lapse
- Tilt release speed up to 150 mm/h
What to weigh
- Resin handling, washing and curing are extra work
- Fast layer time depends on specific settings
- AI detection results vary by environment and resin
- Build area is narrower than larger resin printers
Comparing with other ELEGOO resin printers
If you want a smaller, lower-resolution machine, the Mars 5 Ultra offers a 7-inch 9K screen with similar speed and AI camera features. For a much larger build volume with automatic resin feeding, see the Jupiter 2.
Reading the claims with a cool head
Resolution figures such as 16K describe the screen, not the finished print. Surface quality also depends on the resin, exposure settings, supports and how carefully you wash and cure parts. The 5.5 seconds per layer figure comes with stated conditions, and ELEGOO notes AI camera detection can vary with environment, models and resin. None of that makes the printer a poor choice. It means the spec sheet shows what the hardware is capable of, while your results will depend on the whole workflow around it, from resin choice to post-processing.
Terms explained
- MSLA / monochrome LCD. The printer shines UV light through an LCD to cure a whole resin layer at once. A monochrome screen lets more light through than a color one, which usually means shorter exposures.
- XY resolution. The size of one pixel on the build plate. A smaller figure, here 14 × 19 μm, means finer horizontal detail.
- Tilt release. The build plate peels away from the release film at an angle instead of straight up, which is faster and puts less stress on the print.
- Release film. A film at the bottom of the resin tank that the print cures against. It wears out over time, and the printer reminds you to replace it.
- Cluster printing. Managing several printers from one interface over Wi-Fi.

What is the build volume?
211.68 × 118.37 × 220 mm, according to ELEGOO.
What does 16K mean here?
It refers to the 15120 × 6230 pixel monochrome LCD, which gives a stated XY resolution of 14 × 19 μm.
Does it level itself?
Yes. ELEGOO describes automatic leveling with no manual adjustment, plus alarms for leveling failure.
How fast can it print?
ELEGOO states up to 150 mm/h and 5.5 s per layer, but only in fast mode with Chitubox's default parameters, including a 2.5 s exposure.
Can I monitor prints remotely?
The printer has an AI camera with a chamber light, real-time monitoring and time-lapse, and dual-band Wi-Fi for managing multiple printers.
